CDL-A DRIVER GUIDELINES

Age. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least the past 12 months.
Experience. A verifiable work history with references is required.
MVR Record. Candidates must maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Legality. Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport, TWIC Card, and Hazmat Endorsement is necessary.
Medical. Must meet the minimum medical qualifications established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

State-Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
INS Documentation indicating U.S. citizenship or current permanent resident status.

Medical screening includes:
Blood Pressure: Must be 140/90 or lower.
Vision: 20/40 or better in each eye, with corrective lenses if necessary.
Hearing: Ability to hear a forced whisper from 6 feet away.
Diabetes: Blood sugar levels must be well-controlled, with an A1c of 10 or below. If using insulin, you’ll need Form MCSA-5870, available on the FMCSA website.
Heart Conditions: Cardiology clearance may be required, along with recent stress test or echocardiogram results, if applicable.
